Job responsibilities

Planning

Manage customer demand (EDI) into our scheduling system; ensure demand is broken into appropriate levels. Manage demand for lines assigned. You will have customer contacts and daily communication; manage customer outbound logistics, work customer requirements and information inside the customer’s systems while ensuring adequate inventory is on hand to meet customer shipments. Maintains accurate & timely ship window updates. You will be responsible for maintaining 100% on time customer delivery. Active in helping to manage finished good Kanban system Monitors customer portals for process changes and customer communications. Communicates, to the rest of the plant, all items affecting our operations.

This person is the main contact with the customers assigned. They are to manage the relationship to maintain our standards of operation and to anticipate customer’s needs and meet all customer requirements

Logistics:

They are responsible for managing Customer & supplier returnable dunnage supply. Works through Materials supervisor to ensure broken dunnage is getting identified and repaired/replaced by the customer or responsible person. Monitors timely delivery of dunnage and manages the delivery schedule in conjunction with dock supervisor’s available delivery windows. Ensure there is always dunnage available to meet the production schedule. Also monitors expendable dunnage for emergency situations. Ensure we have it when we need it to meet customer demand. Works within KPI goals.

Inventory: Maintains inventory levels of raw, WIP and finished goods to meet all customer and production requirements and manages inventory levels to meet corporate goals..

Reporting:

Required to do daily posting of customer on time delivery, daily/weekly/monthly schedule attainment and Forecast/EDI comparisons and supplier ratings.

Supplier responsibilities:

Coordinate component suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to support customer requirements.
Validates MRP, inventory levels and turns. Reviews control reports. Coordinates supplier deliveries, freight costs, inbound EDI and ASN confirmation. Controls supplier returnable dunnage. Coordinates service customer requirements with suppliers. Complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Manages the out source loop for the plant

Customer service

Maintains good working relations ships with all people involved in their Value Stream. Actively communicates well with all the links in the supply chain.

Qualifications:

Must be eager and willing to learn computer systems, including MAPICS, MRP, EDI and PC applications. Must have an ability to learn quickly on their own and an ability to manage a lot of details in the system, this person will need good analytical skills and be able to problem solve issues through out the supply chain. Good communication skills are required to deal with customers, suppliers, materials and production personnel on a daily basis. They must be willing and able to juggle many different tasks at the same time such as freight utilization, customers, suppliers and plant needs. They should be able to work proficiently in a, at time, hectic work environment and be able to effectively manage the stress that may result. Previous experience in production planning, buying, logistical analysis and MRP systems is preferred. Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement is desired. A degree in a related field is required, however years of experience in a position very similar may be considered as well as people currently well into obtaining a degree in a related discipline.
